The approach
How do we help a young person become a capable, grounded and purposeful human being?
That single question shapes everything Growing Purpose does.
Growing Purpose is built for young people around 11 to 16 — the years when a person starts to wonder who they are and what they are for. Instead of measuring them against a single academic ladder, we help them explore the whole of themselves.
Seven strands, one person
- Education
- Nature
- Adventure
- Practical skills
- Self-discovery
- Reflection
- Human connection
These strands are not subjects. They are dimensions of a human being. A young person who can think clearly but cannot work with others is unfinished; so is one who can build anything but never asks why.
It starts with a question, not a label
The “Who Are You?” journey is a mirror, not a category machine. It offers language for tendencies — and then hands the young person something to do about it.
Develop the individual → strengthen the community
Growing Purpose exists because stronger individuals make stronger communities. This is our mission and ambition, not a proven claim.
